can you believe it? fottball season is just starting and what do the bears come up with to show fan appreciation? a fan code of conduct and no tailgating!!!!! what in the hell is wrong with these peopole???
it's not bad enough that the park district won't let fans back in if they go outside to smoke (no smoking in the OUTDOOR stadium). no! now security is going to patrol the parking lots to shut down the tailgators during the game. and they have all these conduct things that they can kick you out of the game for.
the bears get to split the park district take----$40 per car, $75 for a motor home. bears tickets cost an arm and a leg and the bastards don't win. now theyre going to send out the goon squad to beat up the tailgators.
SCREW THE BEARS!

Bears fans mad at tailgate rule change
By The Associated Press
CHICAGO (AP) -- Many Bears fans are roaring mad about the team management's new restrictions on tailgating during games in the parking lots outside Soldier Field.
For years, countless fans have shunned the stadium to watch the games on TV in the parking lots, where they often enjoy a food and cocktail spread that rivals any restaurant buffet,
But under a new policy that starts with the team's first exhibition game Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, fans will no longer be able to remain in the parking lots during the games, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Once the game starts, fans will have to cease tailgating.
In an e-mail sent to season ticket holders Tuesday, the Bears said the move is part of a crackdown on unruly behavior. |
This is total crap as far as I'm concerned. You'll notice the Bears dropped this on the fans after their tickets were paid for. What a bunch of greedy cowards! They want their cake and they want the fans to pay for it! I cancelled my Bears tickets a year ago. I'm glad I did.
From here on, I am no longer a Chicago Bears Fan. That's saying something after 40+ years. |

Yeah and what the heck happened to freedom? Is Chicago going to be a Nazi city too like New York? Is there going to be against the law now to have a good time? Man this is too much! |

OMG guys, this is what I keep telling people. First comes the smoking ban and then everything you like will be taken away from you. It's the government's way of controlling people. It kills the joy. But I never thought Daley would put up with this kind of garbage especially since Chicago's budget is in the toilet. This is crazy bad.

Bears fans tailgating outside Soldier Field without a ticket to the game will have to leave the parking lots surrounding the stadium at kickoff as part of a new effort to tackle unruly behavior.
But Soldier Field officials said fans shouldn't be crying in their beers—those without tickets will still be able to party in the parking lots for up to four hours before game time—and return once the final whistle blows.
"Tailgating is not ending," said Luca Serra, a spokesman for Soldier Field. "It's part of the [game] experience for people to come and tailgate. But it's also something that was meant for people who have tickets to the game."
Serra said he expects some fans will be angry but added that the new measure "doesn't affect a huge number of people."
The policy will be in place starting with Thursday's exhibition against the Chiefs.
Fans will be able to contact security by calling 312-235-7999 or texting 312-909-HELP (4357) anonymously to report abusive or foul language, overly intoxicated fans, smoking, harassment or other disruptive behavior.
Once the game starts Thursday night, Serra said, security will ask anyone without a ticket to leave the parking lot area. He said the policy could be enforced by arrest if someone refuses to leave or gets belligerent.
The policy affects the north and south lots, the Waldron parking deck, the Adler Planetarium lot and East Museum lot, he said.

One of the blogs I read suggested that the Bears are trying to lower fan attendance so they can break their contract and move out of soldier field. Anybody got a take on that? |

The Bears wanted the City of Chicago to foot the bill for a whole new stadium. That fell through cause all Daley was willing to do is foot the bill to remodel Soldiers Field. Now Soldiers Field looks like a flying saucer that got stuck on take-off. Its a design disaster! But the taxpayers got to pick up the tab for the mess. Lucky us! |

hey dexy!
Yeah well, I'm still watching the Bears although I don't know what for. They sure don't have much going for them. They continue to poop out a weak win and then they're back to losing. Between this weather and Lovie Smith, I'm getting depressed. |
